Most responsible breeders will tell you that there is little or no money to be made from breeding healthy, happy dogs. In fact, if the costs can be off-set by the price of the puppies, most responsible breeders feel they are successful.
Breeding is for one purpose: TO BETTER THE BREED. What this means is preserving the traits that make a Havanese a Havanese, as well as attempting to overcome some of the health issues found in our breed. Anyone who breeds for any other reason than this, does so only to make a fast buck, and has no interest in the health or welfare of the dogs.
